Right to legal capacity for persons with intellectual and psychosocial

This Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights issue paper argues that persons with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities must enjoy equal legal capacity on an equal basis with others without being automatically deprived of their rights through guardianship systems, and calls for legal reforms and supported decision making frameworks in line with international human rights standards.
